On April 27 and 28, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Social Security (VSS) held a Conference on the implementation of policies on social insurance and unemployment insurance in the South. Deputy General Director Le Hung Son attended and directed the Conference. Attending the conference were representatives of the Department of Social Insurance (Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA)); departments and committees of the VSS and the Southern Social Security Offices.

May, 2021 marks the second year that “The Month for mobilising, implementing the universal social insurance coverage” has been carried out in line with the Prime Minister’s Decision No 1676/QÐ-TTg which approves the Scheme to comprehensively renovate contents, forms and methods of disseminating social insurance. As the COVID-19 pandemic has been and is exerting negative impacts on the Vietnam social security sector’s efforts to increase the number of voluntary social insurance participants, Vietnam Social Security has been proactive and made all efforts to overcome challenges, and adopted communications methods flexibly and creatively to ensure the “double” goals, expanding the voluntary social insurance coverage whilst strictly abiding by regulations on COVID-19 prevention and fighting.
