New SI and HI Policies Take Effect from 1 July 2026
July 1st, 2026, marks the date when numerous new regulations concerning Social Insurance (SI) and Health Insurance (HI) will officially be implemented nationwide. This is not merely an adjustment of contribution and benefit levels according to the new base salary, but also a continued effort to further improve social security policiestowards expanding benefits and creating greater convenience for citizens in accessing medical services and enjoying SI entitlements.

Resolving obstacles in data transfer, digitized records, and the effective implementation Decree No. 157/2025/ND-CP
On the morning of June 23rd, in Hanoi, Mr. Chu Mạnh Sinh, Deputy Director of Vietnam Social Security (VSS), chaired a working session with the Social Security of the Army (SSA) and the Social Security of the People's Public Security (SSPPS). The meeting focused on the transfer of digitized data and records as a basis for compiling monthly social insurance (SI) pension and benefit payment lists. It also addressed the exchange and resolution of difficulties and obstacles encountered during the implementation of Government Decree No. 157/2025/NĐ-CP. Attendees included representatives from several units affiliated with or under the VSS, as well as representatives from SSA and SSPPS.

VSS implements new regulations on collection and coverage expansionin SI, HI, UI
On the morning of June 16, 2026, Vietnam Social Security (VSS) organized an online conference to implement Decision No. 366/QD-BHXH dated April 29, 2026, on promulgating the process for collecting social insurance (SI), health insurance (HI), and unemployment insurance (UI) premiums, and for issuing SI books and HI cards, and Decision No. 458/QD-BHXH dated June 5, 2026, on promulgating the criteria and conditions for selecting organizations to support the development of SI, HI, UI participants. Mr. Tran Dinh Lieu, Deputy Director of VSS, chaired the conference.

The Ministry of Health has issued Decision No. 1551/QD-BYT dated May 31, 2026, along with guidelines for collecting, updating, and interconnecting health examination data, and for creating and updating electronic Health Books on the VNeID application.
