Increasing allowance for elderly without pension from July 1, 2021

According to Decree No. 20/2021/ND-CP of the Government stipulating social assistance policies for social protection beneficiaries, from July 1, 2021, the standard social allowance will be adjusted to 360,000 VND/month, replacing the current amount of 270,000 VND.

Accordingly, the elderly subject to social protection will receive a specific monthly social allowance as follows:
Thus, from July 1, 2021, elderly people aged full 80 years or older who do not have a pension, monthly social insurance allowance or monthly social allowance will be entitled to a subsidy of 360,000 VND/month (an increase of 90,000 VND/month compared to the old regulations in Decree 136/2013/ND-CP).
