I will leave Vietnam after my work contract expires on June 30th 2024. I have worked here for 4 years and I have been paying social insurance every month. What is the process for claiming back social insurance payments? Where can I do it? And what documents will I need to submit?

Dear VSS, I work for FDI enteprise with 100% foreign capital and my managers are from parent company. They are internal transition subjects so they don’t participate social and health insurance. However, because there is mistake on work permit, the managers’ form of work on work permit is “Contract Labor” and can’t be edited. So, may I have a question “Do the managers participate compulsory social, health and unemployment insurance? In case they didn’t participate before, are they required to collect arrears? Thank you!

My enterprise has been recording and submitting social insurance documents through IVAN, but now we do not want to submit through IVAN anymore. We would like to switch document submission through the public service portal. May I ask if my enterprise needs to submit a notification of terminating e-transaction registration via IVAN to the Social Security Agency? If not, could you please explain how we should do? I worked and contributed social insurance from Nov 2020 to Sept 2022, then I left my job because I had five-month pregnant. My company returned my resignation decision and social insurance book attaching the paper on “maternity leave regime after leaving job” consisting of conditions and papers (resignation dicision, social insurance book and child’s birth certificate). I have a curious question. A Vietnamese of mine (she is in her 30s) says that the birth-date shown in her ID is in accordance to the Chinese (Lunar) calendar - meaning, (say) October 20 is not the October 20 of the Gregorian calendar, but the 20th day of the 10th month in the Chinese (Lunar) calendar. I wonder if what she says in correct. It is the practice of the Registry of Birth of the Department of Social Security in the past (whether in North or South Vietnam) ever used the birth-date of a person according to the Chinese calendar to be stated in the Birth Certificate or ID of Vietnamese citizens? I am very curious about what my friend says. Can somebody please clarify. Thank you!
