Accordingly, the MoH gives guidance on the payment of health insurance premiums for COVID-19 testing as follows:

- Service costs No. 1735: Real-time PCR for bacteria/virus/fungal/parasite testing specified in the appendix attached to Circular 13/2019/TT-BYT costs 734,000 VND/1 sample test.

- For single samples: Service costs No. 1735 of 734,000 VND/1 test sample.

In case the sampling unit must send the sample for testing to another unit, the MoH proposes to temporarily calculate and request the payment of health insurance according to the following structure:

+ Service charge for taking and preserving specimens: 117,800 VND/sample.

+ Price for testing: 616,200 VND/sample.

- For pooled samples, the MoH temporarily guides as follows:

+ Price for taking and preserving specimens: 100,000 VND/sample.

+ Price for performing the test equals 634,000 VND/sample divided (:) by the number of times the sample is pooled.

In case of sample pooling and it is found to be positive and the single sample test must continue to be performed, the cost of performing the test is calculated according to the case of single sample.

For those who do not pay health insurance

- In case of single sample: The maximum price for SARS-CoV-2 testing service by Realtime RT-PCR technique from oropharyngeal swabs (applicable to single samples) is 734,000VND/sample; in which:

Service charge for taking and preserving specimens: 117,800 VND maximum/sample

Price for testing: 616,200 VND maximum/sample.

- In case of sample pooling: If the competent authority decides the specific price of the service No.1735 mentioned above with economic and technical norms, the cost of sampling and testing shall be determined according to the norm; in case there is no norm, the cost of sampling and testing shall be determined equivalent to the above-mentioned cost structure ratio.

In case there is no decision approving the economic and technical norms, the MoH temporarily guides the price of testing as follows:

+ Maximum price for taking and preserving specimens: 100,000 VND/sample;

+ The maximum price of testing: 634,000 VND divided (:) by the number of pooled samples.
