Minister of Finance concurrently holds the position of Chairman of the Vietnam Social Security Board of Commissioners in place of Dinh Tien Dung.

On May 25, Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Le Minh Khai on behalf of the Prime Minister signed the decision on the appointment of Mr. Ho Duc Phoc, Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Vietnam Social Security Board of Commissioners, replacing Mr. Dinh Tien Dung.

At the 11th session of the 14th National Assembly in April, Mr. Ho Duc Phoc was approved to be appointed as Minister of Finance, replacing Mr. Dinh Tien Dung, who was assigned by the Politburo to be the Secretary of the Hanoi municipal Party Committee.

According to current regulations, the Vietnam Social Security (VSS) Board of Commissioners helps the Government and the Prime Minister (PM) direct and supervise the activities of VSS and advise on policies on social, unemployment and health insurance.

The Board consists of representatives of heads of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance, Vietnam Farmers' Association, General Director of VSS and other members prescribed by the Government.

The Board of Commissioners shall have a Permanent Chairman and Vice Chairman and members that are appointed, relieved from duty or dismissed by the PM at the proposal of the Minister of Home Affairs; The term of office of the members of the Board of Commissioners is 5 years.
