An Giang Province re-issues lost health insurance cards

Officers working at the social security agency in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang have come up with creative ideas to make social and health insurance services better, looking towards administrative reform and public satisfaction.
The An Giang Social Security Agency has sent officers who perform tasks of receiving and returning administrative applications to the provincial Public Administration Service Centre to receive social and health insurance applications.
The move follows the Government’s Resolution 61/2018/ND-CP on April 23, 2018, on the implementation of the one-stop shop mechanism in addressing administrative procedures in the province.
To ensure timely, open and transparent social and health insurance services, the office allows re-registration of health insurance cards which were lost and need to change owners’ information.
In January 2020 alone, the centre received and re-issued more than 600 health insurance cards.
It takes on average five minutes for the service.
The service has won public trust as well as satisfaction in the administrative reform and performance of civil servants and public employees.
The centre also has ‘No Writing Day’ and ‘No Appointment Day’.
On the ‘No Writing Day’, officers will help people fill in documents and applications if they need and help them check whether the applications are lawful. People coming to the centre are also instructed to submit the applications to the relevant sectors.
On the ‘No Appointment Day’, valid applications will be received and handled on that day.
With the goal of building a professional and modern social security sector which satisfies the public, in the future, the An Giang social security agency will continue administrative reform, promote effective models and solutions to close the gaps between the public and the social security agency.
