On behalf of ASSA Association, Mr. Ouk Samvithyea - Director of Cambodia National Social Security Fund, Vice President of ASSA Association for the term of 2019-2020 gave an overview of the Association after 21 years of establishment and development, strengthening the role of ASSA in ensuring social security for people in the region and contributing to the implementation of the overall plan of the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community. At the same time, after being informed of the activities of the Vietnam’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2020, ASSA's representative also proposed to the ASEAN Secretariat to facilitate ASSA to participate in activities related to social security strengthening for the people.

At the meeting, Mr. Duong Hai Hung, Deputy Director of ASEAN Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Member of the National 2020 ASEAN National Secretariat highly appreciated the performance of ASSA in recent years, especially the connectivity, sharing and practicality in the recent terms. Mr. Hung affirmed that in ASEAN Chairmanship 2020, ASEAN Secretariat will create favorable conditions for ASSA to participate substantially in related activities to contribute to ensuring social security for migrant workers, cynical group and well-being of the people with the goal of helping ASSA increasingly engage in official ASEAN activities.

ASSA representatives would like to invite the National 2020 ASEAN National Secretariat to attend the ASSA Annual Meeting, scheduled to be held in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia in September./.
