Manh said the donated social insurance books and health insurance cards are not only financial support but also timely spiritual support, in order to partially share difficult situations in medical care, examination and treatment.

The receivers will also have the opportunity to join voluntary social insurance to get pension and healthcare benefits in their old age, he said.

"I hope that everyone will make more efforts, overcome the immediate difficulties, gradually stabilise their finances to continue participating in social insurance and health insurance for themselves and continue to share with people in difficult circumstances,” he said.

On behalf of the VSS, he sent thanks to businesses, banks and sponsors for accompanying the agency to successfully organise the programme and bring a warm New Year to poor patients in the Year of the Dragon 2024.

He also thanked local authorities for their attention and coordination in implementing social insurance and health insurance policies./.
