Attending the Conference were representatives of the Steering Committee for External Information Work (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), along with representatives of leaders in charge of foreign affairs, Office leaders and focal experts for external information work of 63 provinces and cities’ VSS Offices. This year, the Conference also had the participation and sharing of many international partners and experts in the field of foreign information and communications.

According to Mr. Dao Viet Anh, Deputy General Director of VSS, in recent times, despite many difficulties, Viet Nam is still one of the bright spots in the world in terms of foreign affairs and economic growth. During the first months of 2023, many vibrant diplomatic activities have been witnessed in the country. The foreign affairs work of VSS was also unified throughout all the VSS Offices and achieved outstanding results, supporting the successful implementation of key tasks of VSS such as participating in amending the Law on Social Insurance and the Law on Health Insurance; developing universal health insurance; investing in funds; promoting digital transformation and IT applications. The sector's external activities have contributed to continuing to affirm and enhance the position and image of Vietnam Social Security as a professional, modern, dynamic, creative agency, and as a friend and a reliable partner of international organizations in the field of social insurance and health insurance, aiming to ensure sustainable social security for the people.

At the Conference, delegates heard from experts about foreign affairs and international experiences in carrying out foreign communication and information work with outstanding topics such as: Regional situation , the world's impact on Viet Nam and implications for VSS; Communication strategy for developing voluntary social insurance participants and international experience for Vietnam Social Security; Skills for producing programs and digital media products; Promoting the advantages of using digital platforms in communication and foreign information activities... These are practical topics with pragmatic value to apply to the implementation of foreign information work at units.

The conference also equips the key staff working in foreign affairs of the VSS with experience, skills and international mindsets to keep up with modern trends in the world, meeting the set goals of strategic direction for the VSS development; at the same time, creating innovation in foreign affairs, foreign information and foreign propaganda consistent with the new spirit according to Conclusion No. 57 of the Political Bureau; continue to thoroughly grasp the policy of "strengthening foreign information information" and "strengthening and improving the effectiveness of applying new communication technology and social networks in foreign information and public opinion fight"; promote the important role of foreign information work in political ideology and foreign affairs work as in the spirit of the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress.
