02 groups of workers are entitled to rent support, including:

Group 1: Employees working at enterprises, signing labor contracts of 01 month or more and performing before April 1, 2022, but rent or stay in from February 1, 2022 to June 30 2022.

Group 2: Employees who return to the labor market, sign a labor contract of 01 month or more, and perform from April 1, 2022 to June 30, 2022 but rent or stay in accommodation from April 1, 2022 to June 30, 2022.

Pursuant to Articles 7 and 11 of Decision 08 stipulating the order and procedures for receiving rent support money of the above two groups of employees, it is the responsibility of the employer to submit the application for rent support.

Thus, there are only a few days left until the deadline for submitting the application for rent assistance. Therefore, businesses need to quickly complete the dossier to submit to the district-level People's Committee by August 15, 2022 so that the competent authority has a basis to settle the rent support money for employees.

The process of implementing the policy to support rent for employees according to the provisions of Decision No. 08/2022/QD-TT has many ministries and branches participating. In particular, the Vietnam Social Security (VSS) is responsible for confirming the status of employees participating in compulsory social insurance to verify the beneficiaries. Accordingly, on the basis of the list of employees requesting housing rent support sent by the employer, the social security agency shall certify the cases in which the employee is participating in compulsory social insurance in the month immediately preceding the time limit. The enterprise shall make a list of employees requesting rent support to verify the subjects entitled to support.

Up to now, with the active participation to promote the highest sense of responsibility in accompanying businesses and workers to solve difficulties, restore and stabilize production and ensure the labor supply chain, the whole VSS industry has implemented the confirmation that employees participating in compulsory social insurance being eligible for the policy of rent support.

By the end of June 2022, the VSS has implemented confirmation according to Form No. 02 Decision No. 08/2022/QD-TT (for employees working in enterprises with a support level of 500,000 VND/person/month, support period: up to 3 months) in 54 arising provinces and cities; confirmed for 20,570 units with 1,150,384 employees, including 1,145,966 employees participating in compulsory social insurance who request rent support.
