The latest guidance on Covid-19 examination payment

Recently, MOH issued Official Letter 5378/BYT-KHTC on guiding Covid-19 examination payment.
MOH has following detailed guidance:
Quick examination fee for health insurance participants before Jul. 1st 2021 is VND 238.000; maximum fee for people without health insurance approved by competent authority is VND 238.000.
From Jul. 1st, actual expense of sample test, returning result: consumable supplies, power, water, employees: health facility pays and draws the ballancesheet under the current state budget allocation about covid prevention expense.
Test fee is under actual expense and actual payment: pay for patients based on number of actual quick examinations and examination expense based on bid result approved by competent authority under legal regulation.

For example, fee of the unit’s quick examination approved by competent authority is VND 135.000/ examination. If health insurance is eligible for health insurance payment condition and 80% coverage condition, health insurance fund will pay VND 135.000 x 80% = VND 108.000/ examination.
VND 27.000 co-payment and other expense related to taking sample, returning result covered by state budget based on current allocation.
With positive Antigen examination, if the case has to take sample procedure and preserve sample similar to PCR’s taking and preserving sample, this service fee is collected and paid VND100.000/sample.
Examination fee is under actual expense and payment, in particularly: payment and expense for each patient based on patient’s number of actual examinations and bid result’s examination price approved by competent authority under Law on Bidding.
Expense of supplies, chemicals, power, water, employees related to examination process: health facilities pay and draw the ballancesheet under current state budget hierachy of covid prevention expenditure.
SARS-CoV-2 examination by Realtime RT-PCR with oropharyngeal sample continues to be implemented under guidance at Official Letter No. 4356/BYT-KH-TC on May 28th 2021 of MOH.
