Vietnam Social Security joined hands to support the Fund for the Poor

On October 17, in Hanoi, in response to the movement named ‘The whole nation joins hands for the poor - No one is left behind’ launched by the Prime Minister. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee in coordination with the Central Steering Committee for the National Target Programme and the Vietnam Television to organize the program called ‘The whole nation joins hands for the poor’ in 2020. At the program, on behalf of the officials, civil servants, employees of the social insurance industry, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Social Security (VSS) Dao Viet Anh awarded 50 million VND to support the Fund for the Poor.

Attending the program were leaders, former leaders of the Party, the State and the Vietnam Fatherland Front, head of departments, ministries, branches, central and local organizations, businesses, business people and philanthropists together with strata of people in Hanoi.

The program has brought into play the national tradition of solidarity and mutual affection, aroused love and support from each community to care for the poor and strengthened the national unity bloc. The Program's results have made practical contributions to the implementation of the National Target Program on sustainable poverty reduction, which responded to the movement ‘The whole nation joins hands for the poor - No one is left behind’ launched by the Prime Minister.

In response to the movement, on behalf of the officials and civil servants, Mr. Dao Viet Anh donated 50 million VND to the Fund for the Poor. The support and contributions of the VSS have shown responsibility and aspiration to join forces with the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people to ‘Joining hands for the poor - No one is left behind’.

For numerous years, the act of ‘joining hands’ for the poor has always been of great concern for the the social insurance industry implementing specific and practical activities. Immediately after the PM launched the emulation movement ‘The whole nation joins hands for the poor – No one is left behind’, the VSS issued an implementation plan to promote solidarity and the strength of collectives and individuals, civil servants and employees in propagating and raising awareness, responsibility and creative initiative in following poverty reduction guidelines and policies of the Party and the State.

On the basis of the assigned functions and tasks, the social insurance sector also focuses on synchronously and effectively implementing tasks and solutions to develop beneficiaries of health insurance; develop the beneficiaries of voluntary social insurance, especially those from poor and near poor households. Determining the guarantee of health care benefits through health insurance for the poor, people belonging to near poor households, ethnic minorities, people under social policies, etc. is an important solution to hunger and sustainable poverty reduction.

Along with the implementation of the goal of ensuring that 100% of the poor, the people with meritorious services, the elderly and ethnic minorities to be promptly issued with health insurance cards, the social insurance industry also mobilized organizations and individuals outside the industry to make donations with a part of the budget not yet supported by the state budget.
