VSS ranks first in IT application for the third time in a row

The Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) has just announced the results of assessing and ranking the level of information technology application by state agencies in 2019. According to the rankings, Vietnam Social Security (VSS) continues to be at the top of the group of government agencies. This is the third consecutive time that VSS has accomplished this achievement.

The assessment and ranking of the level of information technology (IT) application in 2019 has been carried out by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) according to 3 blocks of agencies and units (ministries, ministerial-level agencies; agencies affiliated to the Government; centrally-run provinces and cities), with 06 categories including: IT technical infrastructure; Apply IT in agency activities; Websites/portals; Providing online public services; Mechanisms, policies and regulations for IT application; Human resources for IT application. Each category is checked for scoring, and the total score of the categories is used to give the agency an overall ranking. According to the report, in 2019, the IT application level of the 3 agencies all increased compared to 2018.

Specifically, the average IT adoption index of ministries and ministerial agencies increased from 0.69 in 2018 to 0.82 in 2019. All the average component indexes of the ministries and ministerial-level agencies in 2019 increased compared to 2018, of which, the index of IT technical infrastructure and the application of IT in the ministry's operations witnessed a highest rise.

In the 7-government-agency block, there is also an average increase in the level of IT application compared to 2018, and the ranking in 2019 of this group continues to record for the third time in a row of VSS to rank first.

Overall index of IT application levels of government agencies in 2019.

For the group of 63 centrally-run provinces and cities, for 3 years, the Ministry of Information and Communications has conducted an assessment report on the level of IT application of state agencies. The No. 1 position has continuously been "swapped" between Da Nang and Thua Thien Hue. In 2019, with an overall score of 0.9039, Thua Thien Hue leads the country, followed by Quang Ninh, Binh Duong, Ho Chi Minh City, Khanh Hoa, An Giang, Thanh Hoa, Lam Dong and Hanoi.
