ILO continues to support Vietnam in social insurance reform

ILO continuing to support Vietnam in social insurance reform is a proposal of Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs - Nguyen Thi Ha at the meeting with the Donor Union of International Labor Organization (ILO), in which Mr. Henrik Vistisen – Senior Policy Advisor of Danish International Development Agency is the head of the delegation on a number of issues of mutual interest from two sides that took place recently.

At the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest such as: How to invest effectively to the International Labor Organization for Vietnam's programs; technical cooperation activities between the two sides; the views and support of social partners, local authorities for implementation activities; roadmap for ratifying international conventions.

As a sponsor of the International Labor Organization, Mr. Henrik Vistisen - Senior Policy Advisor of Danish International Development Agency, congratulated Vietnam for implementing a strong reform in improving harmonized labor relations, developing the labor market and enhancing the quality of vocational training for workers.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha highly appreciated ILO's cooperation in supporting Vietnam in forming and developing legal policies such as the Labor Code, Social Insurance, occupational safety and social security, etc. To ILO Vietnam, Vietnam has a close relationship, accompanying, sharing and supporting each other very actively at work, especially in building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations.

In the context of the new aging population and industry 4.0, the Deputy Minister proposed ILO to continue supporting Vietnam to reform social insurance, develop high-quality human resources, build harmonious labor relations, and improve capacity for tripartite partners, linking national wages to the labor market, linking labor supply and demand, training new skills, protecting vulnerable groups, towards decent and sustainable jobs for everybody./.
