The VSS is on its way to perfecting its IT infrastructure – including its computer network, network server, workstation, cyber security, the sector’s data centre, software system, database, and online public services. It is also working to improve the concentrated management of a household database and gradually build the national insurance database.

Meanwhile, it is stepping up electronic transactions in all activities such as the premium contribution, the provision and revoking of social insurance books and health insurance cards; the application for social, health, and unemployment insurance benefits; and verifying and paying for medical examination and treatment fees covered by health insurance.

As of the end of August this year, there were a total of 23 third- and fourth-level online public services supplied by the VSS, a rise of six services from last year. The number of e-dossiers on its system was 104.5 million, 95.2 million of which have been solved. The agency recorded about 114.78 million insurance claims from persons with e-dossiers on medical examination and treatment. The rate of data accessible by VSS units at different levels has reached 98 percent each month.

The VSS has officially implemented a document management and operation system for all central, provincial, and district levels. This system is integrated with the digital signatures of deputy heads of divisions and those holding higher positions at the VSS, of division heads and above at provincial VSS agencies, and directors and deputy directors of district-level VSS units. It is also connected with the Government Office.

Since June 1, all VSS unit documents using specialised digital signatures regulated by the Government Information Security Commission (except for classified and special documents stipulated by the sector) had been compiled and issued using the VSS’ document management and operation software.

The VSS has also effectively run the IT system operation centre and customer service centre that offer advice and answer people’s questions about social, health, and unemployment insurance./.
