Promoting Vietnam - Sweden cooperation in labour and social affairs

On October 4th, at the Ministry Head office of the Ministry of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs, Deputy Minister Le Van Thanh had a cordial meeting with Mr. Johan Ndisi, newly-appointed Swedish Ambassador to Vietnam. Attending the meeting were Leaderships from the Department of International Cooperation, the Directorate of Vocational Education, the Department of Child Affairs, the Institution of Labour Science and Social Affairs…

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Van Thanh highly appreciated the friendly relationship and long-term cooperation between Vietnam and Sweden over the past 55 years. Especially in the current period, the cooperation between the two countries has been increasingly developing, focusing on the fields of digital transformation, green transformation, and circular and sharing economy.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that Vietnam's new policies on labour and employment, as well as international cooperation in this field in recent times, have contributed to protecting workers' rights and meeting current international labour standards.

At the same time, the Deputy Minister also shared issues of mutual concern related to vocational education, human resource development, and social security issues.

He hoped the Swedish Ambassador, with his rich experience, would share and cooperate with MOLISA in the field of labour, employment, and social security, especially helping Vietnam in operating the labour market, towards a modern, harmonious, effective, and integrated labour market.

Deputy Minister Le Van Thanh hopes that cooperation between Vietnam and Sweden will become increasingly stronger in the future.

Thanking Deputy Minister Le Van Thanh for taking the time to welcome him, Mr. Johan Ndisi highly appreciated the cooperation between Vietnam and Sweden in recent times.

Taking on the role of Swedish Ambassador to Vietnam at a very important time, marking the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, he affirmed that the achievements have demonstrated the strong cooperation between Vietnam and Sweden over the past 55 years.

In addition, the Swedish Ambassador also said that many Swedish companies have been operating for a long time and very effectively in Vietnam. Products manufactured in Vietnam contribute a significant part to the current global supply chain of Swedish multinational companies.

The Ambassador affirmed that Sweden will always be a sincere partner of Vietnam. He hopes that in the future, the two sides will cooperate more closely in many potential areas, especially those related to labour and social affairs.
