VSS has effectively implemented 4 Memorandums of Understanding signed with the South Korea’s partners (the Korea Workers’ Compensation & Welfare Service (COMWEL), the National Pension Service (NPS), the National Health Insurance (NHIS), the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (HIRA)). A large amount of information and experiences were exchanged, especially in the implemetation of social security policies in specific areas such as IT application, digitalization, AI application in health insurance review and assessment...

To prepare for the implementation of the Bilateral Agreement on Social Insurance signed between the Governments of the two countries, VSS has closely coordinated with the Korean Embassy in exchanging information and responding to questions on the implementation of social insurance and health insurance policies for Korean employees in Viet Nam. Also VSS regularly exchanged information and responded to questions from the Korean Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (KOCHAM) about the implementation of social insurance and health insurance policies for Korean employees in Viet Nam and Vietnamese employees working in enterprises in South Korea.

VSS has also regularly and promptly given updates and consultation to ministries, departments and agencies on the draft Plan for Agreement Implementation. An VSS’ task force in charge of  negotiating and preparingfor the implementation of the Agreement has exchanged and discussed with NPS about the need of developing necessary documents, processes and forms to be used when the Agreement coming into force; carrying out external information work, summarizing contents of the Agreement to provide to units within VSSsystem.

Through the cooperation with Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Viet Nam, VSS has successfully mobilized sponsors for its officials to attend KOICA international training courses within the framework of the cooperation for development program between the two countries, contributing to the development of staff capacity and VSS system. VSS has also proposed to KOICA to consider sponsoring two training programs for VSS officials in the period of 2024-2026 on digitalization and implementation of the Viet Nam – South Korea Social Insurance Agreement.

In addition, VSS also actively participated in a series of activities hosted by the Government, ministries, departments and the Korean Embassy in Viet Nam towards the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and South Korea such as the Workshop "Reviewing Viet Nam – South Korea cooperation in the fields of labor, employment and society", South Korea's National Day Ceremony and 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and South Korea ...

2022 is marked a big year for the bilateral relationship between VSS and South Korea’s partners in the field of social security, which was well developed, practical, efficient, reliable and increasingly beneficial for both sides and contributing to ensure social security for employees of the two countries.
