Results after one month implementation of support policies to employees and employers.

The Government issued Resolution No 68/NQ-CP on a number of policies to support employees and mployers facing difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic on July 1, 2021.

 

Viet Nam Social Security has achieved many positive outcomes after the first month of urgently and drastically implementing the Resolution.

Immediate implementation

Quickly issuing relevant directive documents

Setting up a steering committee

Issuing directive documents

Establishing an inspection team to supervise the implementation

Promoting dissemination and communication

Creating favourable conditions

Applying information and technology to receive and handle documents: Implementing regulations via the sector’s software and public service portal.

Reducing time to process documents and procedures: Reducing the processing time for documents and procedures from 2-4 days to 1 day following the Prime Minister's decision.

RESULTS

Notice of procedure completion, payment reduction, payment suspension: 

  • Until the end of July 16, 2021

Social insurance branches in provinces and cities have completed the procedures, sent notices to 375,335 employers and 11,238,437 employees.

Reducing the `contribution to 0 per cent to the labour accident and occupational disease insurance fund (between July, 2021 and June 2022) with an estimated amount of about VND4.32 trillion (US$188.1 million).

  • Until the end of July 31, 2021.

Social insurance branches in provinces and cities have issued decisions to suspend payment to the retirement and survivorship fund for 120 employers, equal to 9,533 employees, with an amount of VND61.5 billion ($2.67 million).

Confirmation:

  • Confirming the list of employees who have suspended their labour contracts, taken unpaid leave and suspended working
  • Until the end of July 31, 2021

Social insurance branches in provinces and cities have confirmed 175,804 employees at 10,858 companies to receive benefits from supporting policies under the Government’s Directive No 68/NQ-CP
