General Director of the Vietnam Social Security (VSS) Nguyen The Manh on July 28 signed a new document asking Vietnam Post and local social security agencies to prepare plans to pay monthly pension, social security and unemployment insurance allowances during the COVID-19 prevention and control period.

Following an order by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the Government meeting in July, the VSS has assigned the Vietnam Post and social security agencies of central-level provinces and cities to do the following tasks.

Firstly, they must work with provincial post offices to report to the provincial people’s committees plans of payment in August and in the coming months.

At areas with low risk of COVID-19, people must avoid crowds following the Prime Minister’s Directive No 19. Local authorities must propose preventive measures at payment venues.

Authorities of high-risk areas must follow social distancing rules and make the payment at home for beneficiaries.

Secondly, the VSS has also asked the Vietnam Post to direct provincial and city post offices to actively co-ordinate with the provincial social security agencies to promptly notify beneficiaries of changes and arrange more employees and counters at the payment venues to avoid gathering and reduce waiting time.

If there is any problem in implementation, they should immediately report to the VSS for guidance and settlement./.
