Vietnam Social Security (VSS) is ready to implement 5 public services in the soical security field via the VNeID application.
This was shared by Director Le Hung Son at a meeting of VSS held on 23 September, 2025 on the implementation of public services via VNeID, pursuant to Plan No. 02-KH/BCĐTW of the Central Steering Committee on “promoting interlinked, synchronized, rapid, and effective digital transformation to meet the reorganization requirements of the political system” and Prime Minister’s Directive No. 24/CT-TTg on “promoting deployment of technology solutions serving citizens and businesses associated with population data, identification, and electronic authentication.”

Delegates discussed ways to remove obstacles and difficulties in implementing technology solutions serving citizens and businesses tied to population data, aligning with directives of the Central and the Government.
Specifically, VSS plans to roll out the following 5 public services in the social security field as follows:
1. Settlement for benefits: sickness, maternity, and convalescence allowance.
2. Registration and adjustment of contributions to social insurance (SI), health insurance (HI), unemployment insurance (UI), and work injury and occupational disease; issuance of SI books and HI cards.
3. Re-issuance, replacement, or correction of information in SI books and SI cards.
4. Change of place for receiving pension or SI benefits
5. Registration for voluntary SI, including new registration and transition from compulsory to voluntary SI.
Director Le Hung Son required the attached departments and units to proactively review business processes and promulgate specialized procedures for these 5 public services by September 30, 2025. He also noted that as the digital technology initiatives for citizens and businesses are being pushed forward, there are forecasted difficulties because some data among agencies may not yet be fully synchronized, which could result in administrative hurdles for citizens. The relevant units must anticipate such issues and propose effective solutions, to ensure maximum convenience for both citizens and enterprises when using these public services.
