The information was released at a virtual conference held by the VSS on July 6 to review its operation in the first six months and devise tasks for the remaining months.

During the first half of the year, two COVID-19 outbreaks have affected socio-economic situation and people’s lives. The VSS has proactively and actively coordinated with relevant agencies in participating in the development and amendment of important bills related to social and health insurance.

Specifically, the VSS worked with the Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Ministry of Health and other relevant agencies to propose and submit policies supporting businesses and people facing difficulties due to the pandemic, such as the reduction of contributions to the labour accident and occupational disease insurance fund and the support for vocational training to maintain jobs for employees.

As of July 5, about 16.17 million people are covered by social insurance, accounting for 32.49% of the labour force.

* The General Department of Vocational Training under the Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs held a virtual conference to discuss the contents related to training, fostering and improving vocational skills for employees under the Government’s Resolution No.68/NQ-CP.

Accordingly, the maximum support level under the job-maintenance training policy for employees is VND1.5 million per person per month, for six months.
