Inter-ministerial cooperation programs expected to promote policy communication

The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) and Ministry of Information and Communications have reached agreement on tightening coordination in policy communication.

The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) and Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) have reached agreement on tightening coordination in policy communication.

In the signing ceremony held on March 12 in Hanoi, on the cooperation programs between the MOJ’s Law Dissemination and Education Department and the MIC’s Authority of Press and Authority of Foreign Information Service, the three agencies committed to closely working together to promptly disseminate legal information to citizens and international communities.

Specifically, the Law Dissemination and Education Department and the Authority of Press agreed on coordination contents for the 2024-27 period, focusing on helping competent authorities formulate legal documents, schemes, projects, programs and plans on public communication, dissemination and education about policies and laws associated with the functions, tasks and powers of each agency.

The two agencies will also direct press agencies to disseminate information about the Vietnam socialist law-ruled state in the spirit of Resolution 27-NQ/TW issued in 2022 by the 13th Party Central Committee; viewpoints, guidelines and policies in newly-issued legal documents; as well as achievements in building and improving Vietnam's laws, and administrative and judicial reforms.

At the same time, the Department of Legal Dissemination and Education and the Authority of Foreign Information Service reached agreement on collaboration activities for the 2024-28 period. Specifically, they will collaborate with each other in directing and guiding ministries, sectors and localities in general and officers in charge of external information work in particular in the provision of information about the country’s implementation of as well as laws related to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment.

They will also join hands in carrying out public communication about draft policies that have great impacts on the society to persons engaged in foreign information work at home and abroad.

Speaking at the event, leaders of the two ministries appreciated the organization and implementation of the coordination programs as they would help raise the quality of policy communication and, at the same time, take advantage of the agencies’ resources and strengths to perform their assigned tasks.
