More than 27,000 billion VND sent to employees and businesses after 1 month of UI fund support implementation
Implementation of the Prime Minister (PM)'s Decision No. 28/2021/QD-TTg dated October 1, 2021 on the implementation of policies to support employees and employers affected by the Covid-19 pandemic from the Unemployment Insurance (UI) Fund, after 1 month of efforts and drastic implementation, Vietnam's social security industry has achieved numerous positive results with more than 27,000 billion VND out of a total of about 38,000 billion VND of the support package being disbursed.

Hanoi Social Security Office issued and sent Official Letter No 5390/BHXH-VP to social security of communes, wards, towns of Hanoi on suggesting to speeding up the implementation of Government’s Resolution No 116/NQ-CP to help employees early receive support and ensure payment for eligible subjects, accurate support level without omitting supported employees.

The entire country has more than 11.7 million employees receiving support from unemployment insurance fund
According to VSS’ statistics, up to Nov 16th 2021, localities’ social security offices paid support enjoyment from unemployment insurance (UI) to more than 11,778,660 employees (including: nearly 11 million employees are participating UI; 785,000 employees stopped participating UI) with the sum of VND 28,000 billions.

Ensuring employees who lost jobs or quit jobs enjoy health care following health insurance scheme
Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long answered questions by National Assembly (NA) deputies during the 15th legislature’s second sitting on November 10 under the chair of NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue. Minister Long said the number of health insurance participants in 2021 will drop due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. In face of difficulties, the ministry is coordinating with the Viet Nam Social Security and the Ministry of Finance to review the number of employees who lost jobs or had jobs suspended in order to have policies to support their health insurance participation and ensure the coverage rate of health insurance as well as ensure people to enjoy health care following the health insurance scheme.
