On Dec 12th 2025, the Government issued the Decree No. 351/2025/NĐ-CP issuing National multidimensional poverty standard for the 2026–2030 period including the adjustment of rural poverty standard. The important base identifies the minimum voluntary social insurance (SI) premium.

According to Government Resolution No. 403/NQ-CP, nationwide, by 2030, the number of people participating in social insurance should reach 29,334,000; of which the minimum target for voluntary social insurance is 2,444,500 people. The government also specifies the number of participants in social insurance and voluntary social insurance for each province and city.

The Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) in Vietnam recently submitted a document outlining challenges in compensating foreign workers on foreign intra-corporate transferees, specifically concerning contractual requirements, work permits, and compulsory social insurance (SI) contribution. In response, the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a statement clarifying regulations for two categories of workers.
