The Vietnam Social Security (VSS) has asked local social security agencies to step up legal dissemination during the Lunar New Year.

The VSS issued Document 256/BHXH-PC on January 27 on promoting the dissemination of laws and ordinances newly approved at the 10th meeting of the 14th National Assembly and implementation of other tasks.

Seven laws that need to be disseminated include the Environmental Protection Law; Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on prevention and control of virus infections causing human immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS); Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on handling of administrative violations; Law on Vietnamese workers working abroad under contracts; Law on International Agreements; Immigration Law; and Vietnam’s Border Law.

Following the Prime Minister’s order, the VSS requested local agencies to step up legal education on negotiation, conciliation, regulations on lawsuits, complaints, denunciations, settlement of conflicts and disputes arising in civil, economic relations, marriage and family, and penalties for murder.

Civil servants and public employees of the social security sector must strictly and fully follow the order of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat and the Prime Minister on strengthening measures to ensure a joyful, healthy and safe New Year holiday.

While on duty, civil servants and public employees should pay attention to disseminating information and encouraging people to comply with the law and actively participate in the fight against and prevention of crimes and law violations.

Legal dissemination during the New Year holiday must focus on the laws on crime prevention and fighting against social evils; traffic order and safety; administrative penalties on traffic violations; fire protection; preventing, combating and strictly handling acts of illegal purchase, sale and use of weapons, supporting tools, and management of explosive materials and supporting tools; as well as food safety and hygiene.
