In the afternoon of May 20^th , the first day of the 7^th session of the 15^th National Assembly, after NA votes to approve the Resolution to elect Chairman of the NA, Chairman of National Election Council, Tran Thanh Man, Poliburo Member, NA’s Standing Vice Chairman officially swore an oath of loyalty to take office as the Socialist Republic of Việt Nam’s NA chairman for the 15^th session.

“To the Vietnam’s National Flag, NA and the voters nationwide, I, NA’s chairman Tran Thanh Man swear: Totally be loyal to the Fatherland, the Peoples, and the Constitution, pledging to do his best to fulfil the assigned tasks and duties.” Chairman of NA of Vietnam swore.

According to the voting result, 100% participating deputies approve the resolution, accounting for  97.54% of the total NA’s deputies elect Tran Thanh Man, member of political  Bureau, Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly.

Tran Thanh Man was born on Aug 12^th 1962; native place: Thanh Xuan commune, Chau Thanh A district, Hau Giang Province; Date of Party admission: Aug 25^th 1982.

Man’s positions: Member of the Political Bureau in the 13th tenure;

Secretary of the Party Central Committee in the 12th tenure;  Member of the Party Central Committee in the 10th tenure (alternate), 11th, 12th and 13th tenures; Chairman of the VFF Central Committee (7/2017 - 3/2021);
Vice Secretary of the N.A. Party Delegation, Standing Vice Chairman of the 14th National Assembly (from April 1, 2021); Chairman of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Parliamentarians' Group (11/2021); NA’s Deputy in the 13^th, 14^th, 15^th   tenure.

Tran Thanh Man is Bachelor’s degree in Politics, PhD’ degree in Economy

Form Jul 1979 to Dec 1982, Tran Thanh Man was member of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union  Office (HCYC) of Chau Thanh district, head of the HCYC Office of Chau Thanh;  member of executive board, member of standing board of the Youth Union of Chau thanh district, Hau Giang Province. From Jan 1983 to Dec 1987, Man was standing Vice Secetary of the HCYU of Chau Thanh district.

From Jan 1988 to June 1994, Man was member of the standing board of the HCYU, Vice Secretary of the HCYU of Can Tho; from Jul 1994 to Nov 1999, he was member of the People’s Committee, member of the Party Affairs Committee of the People’s Committee Office, Chief of the People’s Committee Office, Secretary of the Party Committee Office of Can Tho province.

From December 1999 to December 2023, Man was member of the Party Committee, member of the Party Affairs Committee, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Can Tho province; from Jan 2024 to Mar 2008, Man was member of standing board of the Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of Binh Thuy District, Can Tho city.

From March 2008 to December 2010, Man was alternate member of the 10^th Party Central Committee, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Can Tho city; from January 2011 to September 2015, at the 11^th National Party Congress, he was elected as a member of  the Party Central Committee,  secretary of the Party Committee, head of the delegation of N.A. deputies (13^th tenure) of Can Tho city.

From October 2015 to March 2016, he was a member of the 11^th Party Central Committee (1/2011-2016), 12^th Party Central Committee (from 1/2016), he was Vice President of Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee.

From April 2016 to June 2017, Man was member of the 12^th Party Central Committee, Vice  Secretary General of the VFF Central Committee, member of the Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption; Deputy to the 14^th N.A.

From July 2017 to Jan 2021, he was Secretary of the 12^th Party Central Committee, President of the VFF Central Committee, from Feb 2021 to Mar 2021, he was secretary of the 12^th Party Central Committee, secretary of the Party Committee, President of VFF Central Committee,  from Feb to March 2021, he was 13^th  Political Bureau, Secretary of the Party, President of the VFF Committee.

From April to July 2021, Man was member of the 13^th Party Central Committee’s poliburo member, Standing  Vice Chairman of  the 14^th NA, Vice Chairman of the National Election Council (Apr 2021 – Jun 2021); Politburo member of 13^th term,  (Jul 2021 – now), Standing Vice Chairman of the 15^th N.A.

In Jul 2021, at the 1^th session of the 15^th National Assembly, he was elected as a Socialist Republic of Vietnam’s Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly and continues being incharge of Standing Deputy of NA term 15 , from Nov. 2021 til now, he

May 2021 - April 2024: Politburo member, Vice Secretary of the N.A. Party Delegation, Standing Vice Chairman of the 14th, 15th N.A., Vice Chairman of the National Election Council, 15^th Chairman of the Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians Organization, Chairman of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Parliamentarians' Group.

From May 2^nd 2024, NA’s  permanent vice chairman of the Committee assigned Man as the Poliburo 15^th NA Committee and Committee and National Assembly.
