In 2023 alone, the program 'Giving social insurance certificates and health insurance cards to people in difficult circumstances' by the VSS mobilized contributions from organizations, individuals, and the community. The sector received over 8,000 social insurance certificates, nearly 122 thousand health insurance cards, and more than 1,000 gift packages, equivalent to a total of 26.7 billion dong, to be given to people in difficult circumstances nationwide, contributed by organizations, businesses, and kind-hearted individuals nationwide, as well as contributions from civil servants, officials, and workers across the entire VSS system. Significant contributions came from 7 central enterprises, including Agribank, BIDV, Vietinbank, Vietcombank, MB Bank, Vietnam Post Corporation, and PVI Insurance Company.

"With these meaningful gifts, the VSS hopes to provide additional warmth and encouragement to help patients overcome illnesses and motivate those in difficult circumstances to rise up in life, especially during the holidays - a time for us to gather with family and loved ones." - Director General Nguyen The Manh shared.

During the visits to the reception and treatment areas for health insurance patients at hospitals, Manh also informed patients about the rights and significant benefits of health insurance policies. This is a major, humanitarian policy of the Party and the State, a pillar in our country's social security system, helping participants, especially the poor, to have financial access to the best medical services in case of illness or accident.

As the agency entrusted by the Government to implement this policy, Manh stated that the VSS has always been and will continue to accompany the Health sector and hospitals to ensure the best rights for health insurance participants in medical examinations and treatments, serving, caring for patients; resolving payment difficulties beyond the total budget.

These gifts are encouragement and precious sharing, timely reaching out to the patients in most difficult circumstances, especially during the 2024 Lunar New Year.
