The VSS fanpage has been verified by Facebook with a blue tick

Recognizing the effectiveness of social media as a communication channel, especially among young readers, on April 23rd, 2019, VSS’ Director General signed Decision No. 448/QĐ-BHXH to establish the VSS fanpage on the Facebook social media platform, with the domain: https://www.facebook.com/baohiemxahoi.gov.vn.

Leveraging the advantages of social media in terms of information dissemination and high interactivity (through sharing and two-way communication via comments and messages), the VSS fanpage has actively disseminated and directed the Party's and State's policies on social, health, and unemployment insurance. It has also highlighted the notable activities of the sector to a wide audience of social media users. Furthermore, the VSS fanpage serves as a reliable platform for advising and addressing concerns raised by citizens and workers regarding their participation in and benefits from social, health and unemployment insurance programs.

Currently, the VSS fanpage has amassed over 31,000 followers. The posts and articles shared on the fanpage utilize modern and captivating formats such as images, graphics, videos, and clips, which consistently attract hundreds, even thousands of likes, shares, and tens of thousands of interactions. On June 8th, 2023, the VSS fanpage was verified by Facebook with a blue tick, confirming its status as the official fanpage of the VSS and helping social media users recognize and avoid counterfeit pages.

To further enhance the effectiveness of communicating social, health, and unemployment insurance policies on the Facebook platform, the VSS recently issued official Letter No. 2071/BHXH-TT on July 7th, 2023, providing guidance to subordinate units and provincial and municipal social security office on strengthening communication efforts on the VSS fanpage.

According to the guidelines, emphasis is placed on communicating the significance, role, practical value, and humanistic aspects of social, health and unemployment insurance policies. It also includes highlighting the disadvantages when individuals receive social security benefits once, the efforts of the VSS in digital transformation, effective models, and exemplary practices in implementing social, health and unemployment insurance policies. Additionally, raising awareness about the impersonation of the VSS fanpage, its officials, civil servants, and workers to commit fraud and deceive people in order to misappropriate their assets is also a key communication aspect on the fanpage.

In terms of communication methods, it is important to enhance the production, editing, and publishing of concise and impactful communication materials on social, health and unemployment insurance policies. This can include organizing online conferences for policy consultation and clarification, as well as posting modern communication materials such as infographics, motion graphics, videos, and dynamic graphic banners on various topics, subjects, and major occasions of the sector. Conducting competitions such as photo contests, video contests, and infographic contests to promote awareness of social, health and unemployment insurance policies is also encouraged. Furthermore, actively and responsively interacting with readers on the fanpage to answer questions, provide advice, support, and address comments regarding social, health and unemployment insurance policies on the fanpages of Social Security at all levels.
