Specifically, at the headquarters of Da Nang Social Security Office, VSS General Director Nguyen The Manh and delegates presented 20 social insurance books to people with difficult circumstances in the area. The group represents 130 people who are given social insurance books and 20 people who are given health insurance cards living Da Nang city.

In Dai Loc district, Quang Nam province, VSS General Director Nguyen The Manh and delegates presented 11 social insurance books and 16 health insurance cards to people in difficult circumstances. The group represents 180 people who are given social insurance books and 250 people who are given health insurance cards of Quang Nam province.

At the awarding ceremony, VSS General Director Nguyen The Manh said, the program "Giving social insurance books and health insurance cards to people in difficult circumstances" is an activity to spread the welfare policy of the State; widely mobilize the participation of civil servants, public employees and workers in the entire VSS industry and the social community in giving social insurance books and health insurance cards to people in difficult circumstances, including ethnic minorities belonging to the group of subjects who are not supported by the State budget to pay health insurance premiums; people without health insurance cards who are newly escaped from poverty; people from near-poor households, people with average living standards who have not yet participated in social and health insurance and people with other difficult and disadvantaged circumstances, etc.

With that in mind, on November 23, 2022, the VSS held a launching ceremony of the program to donate social insurance books and health insurance cards to people in difficult circumstances nationwide. And by December 10, 2022, the whole country had mobilized about 10,000 social insurance books and nearly 120,000 health insurance cards. All have been allocated to localities by the VSS on the basis of reviewing the number of needy people.

“We hope that this is not only financial support, but also a spiritual encouragement, helping people in difficult circumstances reduce the burden of medical treatment costs thanks to the health insurance card when unfortunately ill; have the opportunity to participate in voluntary social insurance to enjoy pension and health care in old age. I hope that people who are given health insurance cards and social insurance books today will hang in there, overcome the immediate difficulties, step by step stabilize their finances to continue participating in social and health insurance for themselves." - Manh shared.

As one of the recipients of the social insurance book, Tran Anh Dung (Hai Chau District, Da Nang City) said that he had known about the benefits of the voluntary social insurance policy through the media, but his family could not afford to participate. Therefore, he feels joyful to be supported for a whole year. "This is the initial motivation for me to be more determined to save up and prepare to participate in this policy in the near future." - Dung shared.

At the awarding ceremony of social insurance books and health insurance cards, on behalf of Da Nang People's Committee, Ho Ky Minh - Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, Standing Deputy Head of Steering Committee for implementation of policies on social, health and unemployment insurance, recognizes and appreciates the practical work of Vietnam's social security industry and donors who have promptly supported, encouraged and helped people with this practical and meaningful work. Through the books and cards given today, it will contribute to creating peace of mind and people's deep trust in the social security policies of the Party and the State.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee suggested, besides the efforts of social security agencies at all levels in implementing voluntary activities to give social insurance books and health insurance cards, businesses in the city need continue to have more practical activities to accompany this meaningful Program. Therefore, efforts will be made to support and donate social insurance books and health insurance cards to people in difficult circumstances.
