The law needs specific provisions for female workers to ensure gender equality. Their right to work and right to equality needs to be protected, as does their right to be a labourer and a mother if they so choose.

On 29 June 2016, Vietnam Social Security (VSS) and Ministry of Health (MOH) jointly held a Conference on health insurance implementation period of 2016-2020, to launch health care data portal and health insurance assessment information system. H.E Vu Duc Dam, Deputy Prime Minister; H.E Dinh Tien Dung, Minister of Finance and concurrently Chairman of VSS Governing Body attended the conference.
