Second US-DPRK Summit to take place in Ha Noi

President Donald Trump has announced that the second summit with leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong-un will take place in Ha Noi, Viet Nam.

Donald Trump wrote on his Twitter page that his representatives had just left the DPRK after a very productive meeting and an agreed upon time and date for the second summit  with Kim Jong-un.

“I look forward to seeing Chairman Kim and advancing the cause of peace,” President Trump wrote.

Earlier in his State of the Union Address, President Trump said the summit will be held in Viet Nam from February 27-28.

Regarding Viet Nam's response to the summit, Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang affirmed Viet Nam welcomes the US and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to hold second Summit in the Southeast Asia country.

Hang went on to say that Viet Nam strongly supports dialogues to maintain peace, security, and stability on the Korean peninsula and stands ready to make active contribution to and coordinate with relevant sides to ensure the success of the second summit, thus helping to achieve the above-mentioned goal./.
