6.92 percent hike proposed for pension, social insurance benefits of 8 groups as from July 1, 2018

The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs has compiled a draft decree on adjusting retirement pension, social insurance benefits and monthly allowances.

Under the draft, retirement pension, social insurance benefits and monthly allowance will see a 6.92 percent increase as from July 1.  Eight groups to benefit from the hike are:

1.Pensioners who were public officials, public employees, workers in State-run firms, civil workers; military personnel and members of the people’s public security force and the cipher sector.

2.Recipients of monthly pension and allowance who were commune, ward and town officials.

3.Recipients of monthly benefits for loss of working capacity; recipients of monthly allowance who had worked for full 15 years to under 20 years but were no longer eligible for monthly benefits for loss of working capacity; and recipients of monthly allowance who were workers of rubber farms.

4. Commune, ward and town officials who are receiving monthly pension and allowance under Decision 130/QD dated June 20, 1975 of the Government Council and Decision 111/HDBT dated October 13, 1981 of the Council of Ministers.

5.Recipients of monthly allowance who were demobilised military personnel serving during the anti-US resistance war with less than 20 years of service duration.

6.Recipients of monthly allowance who were members of the people’s public security force serving during the anti-US resistance war with less than 20 years of service duration.

7. Recipients of monthly allowance who were demobilised military personnel, members of the people’s public security force, members of the cipher sector who received the same level of salaries as military personnel, members of the people’s public security force serving during national defence wars, performing international missions in Cambodia and Laos after April 30, 1975.

8.Recipients of monthly benefits for occupational accidents and diseases.

The funding for the hike of retirement pension, social insurance benefits and monthly allowances for those groups of beneficiaries will come from the State budget and the Social Insurance Fund.
