Nearly 3,000 records of unemployment benefits have been handled on the National Public Service Portal so far this year.

The data was revealed at a meeting on March 21 of the working group that is in charge of implementing the Government’s Project No 6 on “Developing the application of population database, e-identification and e-authentication for national digital transformation in the 2022-2025 period”.

Lieutenant General To Van Hue, head of the Police Department for Administrative Management of Social Orders under the Ministry of Public Security, said at the meeting that essential public services with a high number of records have been handled through the national public service portal since the beginning of this year including registrations of new low-voltage power grid (173,608); tax registrations for the first time (54,480); birth registrations (39,457); judicial records (17,166); death registrations (14,943 records); registrations of changes in land use (14,552); marriage registrations (14,138); permanent residence registrations and health insurance card issuance (6,979); changes of driver's license (7,179); permanent residence registrations (6,437); and settlement of unemployment benefits (2,872).

The public security ministry has continued deploying features of electronic chips installed on identification cards and operating the e-identification app (VNEID), especially in the field of digital transformation, he said.

It also coordinated, selected and piloted programmes with five State-invested banks on identity authentication products and services on the basis of ID cards with electronic chips, he said.

The ministry issued a plan on issuing ID cards and electronic identification to citizens nationwide. The total number of identification records in the identification system has reached 24,211 so far.

Currently, all 63 provinces and cities have received records for electronic identification accounts. Ha Noi’s Department of Police is the locality that received the highest number of records with 5,270.

It has synchronised the information of more than 9.2 million social insurance cards; over 56.2 million vaccinations of the Ministry of Health as well as synchronised information related to education and training for 168,177 citizens.

Speaking at the meeting, General To Lam, Minister of Public Security and head of the working group, told members of the group to quickly implement assigned tasks to ensure progress; and promptly remove difficulties in order to accelerate the implementation of the project.

Regarding the implementation of interconnected procedures (such as birth registrations, permanent residence registrations, issuance of health insurance cards for children under six years old; death registrations, deletion of permanent residence registrations, funeral allowances on the national database on population connecting with the system of the Ministry of Justice and the Viet Nam Social Security), the Government Office is required to develop the process to receive the records on the national public service portal.

Lam also ordered members of the group, which works at the health ministry, to coordinate with the Viet Nam Social Security to continue instructing medical facilities to implement the policy of using ID cards to integrate health insurance information for medical treatment; urgently integrate and deploy the VNEID app; and complete information on citizens' health records.

In March, the implementation of the project has been undertaken drastically. The implementation roadmap has ensured progress and achieved significant results.

For example, the percentage of people accessing residence settlement registrations through the portal has increased. The connection and sharing of the national population database with specialised databases of ministries and sectors has been run as scheduled. The integration of the health insurance card on the ID cards creates favourable conditions during medical examinations. /.
