From June 1, 2025, Vietnam Social Security (VSS) stops issuing paper health insurance (HI) cards. Instead, citizens will use modern, electronic methods to replace the paper card, such as the VssID – Digital Social Insurance application, the VNeID application, or a chip-based Citizen ID card for HI medical examination and treatment. The method marks a significant step forward in reducing administrative procedures and promoting digital transformation in the implementation of HI policies.
