On the evening of November 26, the Viet Nam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD) organised a ceremony to announce and honour 100 sustainable enterprises in Viet Nam in 2019.

Deputy Prime Minister, President of National Council for Sustainable Development and Competitiveness Improvement Vu Duc Dam, leaders of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, representatives of local authorities, international organisations and enterprises participated in the event.

In 2019, the Corporate Sustainability Index (CSI) was used to evaluate enterprises’ levels of sustainable development. The 2019 CSI was reduced from 131 indicators to 98 indicators in three categories of society, economy and environment, of which 90 per cent of indicators are about regulatory compliance.

The targets are also more scientifically grouped, updated with international practices and domestic laws, highly applicable and suitable for more uses.

In its fourth year of implementation, the CSI programme continued to record the participation of more than 500 enterprises from different fields, regardless of size and economic sector. VBCSD has chosen to honour 100 of the most excellent enterprises leading in sustainable development./.
