On August 11, 2022, continuing the 14th session, the National Assembly Standing Committee voted to approve the Resolution to allow the continued payment of support to employees according to Resolution No. 03/2021/UBTVQH15 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on policies to support employees and employers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic from the unemployment insurance fund.

The recently passed Resolution allows the use of about 1,155 billion VND from the balance of the unemployment insurance fund until the end of 2021 to continue to pay support to employees who are eligible under Resolution No. 3 and submitted on-time applications. The time for payment to support employees will be completed on September 10, 2022 at the latest.

The National Assembly Standing Committee assigned the Government to implement the payment on time and report to the National Assembly Standing Committee the results of the implementation of Resolution No. 03 and this Resolution at the meeting in September 2022 of the National Assembly Standing Committee.

Previously, presenting the report on the verification of the Government's proposal, the Chairwoman of the National Assembly's Committee of Social Affairs Nguyen Thuy Anh said that Resolution No. 03 has correctly and timely reflected the consistent views of the Party, National Assembly and the Government in leading, directing, orienting and promulgating policies to contribute to supporting employees and employers to overcome difficulties affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The implementation and settlement of policies are carried out by the Government, ministries, branches and agencies and localities in a timely, quick and diversified manner, and the core agencies are the social security authorities in the localities.

As a result, payments have been made to nearly 13 million workers with an amount of more than VND 30,800 billion; reduced unemployment insurance contributions for employers, by July 31, 2022, for more than 346,000 employers, with an amount of nearly 7,560 billion VND.

According to Ms. Thuy Anh, Resolution No. 03 was well received and appreciated by employees and employers and considered that this was a large-scale, direct, practical, and timely support policy for employees and employers participating in unemployment insurance contributions.
