Since participated in International Labour Organization in 1992, Vietnam has ratified 25 ILO’s Conventions, in which there have been 7/8 basic Conventions. Vietnam has also made effort to implement the Convention, including uniformity among domestic legal systems, especially the Labour Code 2019 (amended).

To promote the application and implementation of the international labour standards in Vietnam, as well as enhance the tightly cooperation, improve the research on participation and application match with the international labour standards in Vietnam, MOLISA and ILO Vietnam have cooperated to build the MOU on cooperation in promoting the international labour standards in Vietnam in 2021 – 2030, this MOU has showed the general commitment and create the cooperation framework between MOLISA and ILO Vietnam in this field.

On this occasion, MOLISA held the Awarding ceremony on medal of appreciation for the cause of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs for Dr. Chang Hee Lee, Director of ILO Vietnam.

Dr. Chang Hee Lee has had important contribution into promoting the cooperation between Vietnam and ILO and creating active changes in the field of labour, employment in Vietnam. He also supported Vietnam in the process of support EU to ratify EVFTA agreement, amending the Labour Code 2019 and improving the state management capacity of the Ministry which contributes to improve the status of Vietnam in ILO.

Addresing at the event, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung affirmed that the Signing Ceremony the MOU between MOLISA and ILO on cooperation in promoting implementation the ILO’s Conventions in Vietnam in the period 2021 – 2030 was the important event remarking the new cooperation period between the two sides, especially, in the context of changing world of work, industrial relationship, labour’s representative organizations…

The Minister thanked ILO for the accompanies with MOLISA and Vietnam’s Government, which displayed the tight triparties connection in implementation the general goals on human rights, citizen’s rights and industrial relation development.

The Minister highly appreciated the contributions of Dr. Chang Hee Lee into the field of labour, employment for recently. He acknowledged the contribution of Dr. Chang Hee Lee with his consultations, advices into building the policies on wages, social insurance, and retirement age adjustment, labour’s representative organization, collective bargaining… Minister Dao Ngoc Dung believes that Dr. Chang Hee Lee will success at the new position, and continue contributing into the improvement the lives, income and working condition for the labourers.

At the Ceremony, Dr. Chang Hee Lee shared the honor when received the Medal for the Cause of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs. Dr. Chang Hee Lee thanked all colleagues in MOLISA and ILO Vietnam for their trust and support during his process of working and living in Vietnam. He affirmed that, at any position, he will continue support Vietnam and MOLISA in the duties of protection the labourer’s right better.
