The Government Office launched the National Reporting Platform, the Government’s Centre for Information and Directions, and the 1,000th online public service on the National Public Service Portal on August 19.

Saving VND460 billion each year

The National Reporting Platform is built based on the previously-launched Government Reporting Platform, enhanced by connections to reporting platforms of ministries and local governments.

So far, 30 ministries, State agencies and localities have connected to the Government Reporting Platform. As many as 101 out of 200 regular reporting regimes and socio-economic reports have been updated on the system. It helps save about VND460 billion per year.

From eight public services integrated into the National Public Service Portal on its launch day (December 9, 2019), there have been 1,000 services updated so far.

After nine months of operation, the National Public Service Portal has logged nearly 60 million accesses with more than 14 million documents, averaging 4,000 documents processed online every day and hundreds of online transactions.

The portal helps save more than VND6.7 trillion a year at the time the 1,000th service was launched.

The 1,000th public service is for the declaration and payment of registration fee (level 4) and submission of automobile registration declarations (level 3) applied to automobiles manufactured and assembled in Ha Noi and HCM City.

Public management attached to digital transformation

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said building and developing a digital government was an inevitable trend to improve the openness and transparency of the Government, to fight corruption and waste and to improve the business environment and the country’s competitiveness as well as labour productivity.

He noted that the ministries, State agencies and localities must build e-Government, digital government along with public management reform and digital transformation.

Data must be consistent, follow standards and be operated smoothly to have the highest efficiency. At the same time, civil servants and public employees must be encouraged to work online, be trained to improve their information technology capacity. They also should equip themselves with necessary digital skills to adapt to rapid changes and online working environment, he said.

PM Phuc asked for the integration of essential public services to the National Public Service Portal such as import and export, land, construction, minerals, taxes, handling administrative violations, hospital fees, and education.

He also ordered relevant sectors to upgrade the portal’s features to ensure better services for people and businesses with the target of having 30 per cent of level 4 online public services by 2020.

He ordered sectors and localities not to make up data to gain achievements and urged them to promote information sharing towards building an integral, transparent Government ready to take action and to serve people and businesses.

He assigned the Government Office to work with relevant ministries and localities to select socio-economic indicators and daily Government directing indicators to be provided on the National Reporting Information System and the Centre for Information and Directions.

It is necessary to closely co-ordinate with the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Information and Communications, and the Government’s Cipher Committee in ensuring the system’s security, safety and prevent data leaks, he said./.
