The Government continues controlling and preventing COVID-19

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has signed Directive No 10/CT-TTg on accelerating COVID-19 control and prevention.

Viet Nam has taken relentless efforts in controlling and preventing COVID-19

To continue effectively adopting solutions to control and prevent COVID-19, the Prime Minister asked:

1. Ministries, State agencies and provincial people’s committees to continue highlighting the spirit of “fighting the disease like fighting enemies”, be always on high alert and strictly implement solutions to control and prevent COVID-19 following Directive No 05/CT-TTg issued on January 18 and Directive No 06/CT-TTg issued on January 31, tighten management over aviation activities, tourism, inter-border goods logistics and people who usually cross shortcuts along the Viet Nam – China border.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs to work with its Chinese counterpart to have Vietnamese nationals from disease-hit areas in China only immigrate into Viet Nam from international border gates.

2. For people immigrating to Viet Nam from infected areas in South Korea, other countries and territories:

a) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs to 

- Announce to South Korea, other countries and territories about Viet Nam’s mechanisms to control and prevent the disease, including halting entry to Viet Nam for those who travel from or transit in infected areas, for those who immigrate for official purposes, they have to do health declarations and quarantine in 14 days. 

- Ask Vietnamese nationals to not travel to infected areas in other countries, except for emergencies, in that case, they will have to be quarantined for 14 days after arrival in Viet Nam.

- Urge Vietnamese people living in South Korea, especially in Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk to follow the South Korean Government’s mechanisms to control and prevent COVID-19, to not travel to infected and affected areas warned by the host country’s authorities.

b) The Ministry of Health to be in charge of quarantining suspected infected people and other subjects asked to be isolated by the healthcare sector at medical facilities.

c) The Ministry of Defence to prepare facilities to quarantine people who are not in the category mentioned above, apply measures to reduce density in quarantine areas in border provinces to prevent cross-infection.

d) The Ministry of Public Security to notify the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Health and provincial people’s committees about people who travel from infected areas to Viet Nam for quarantine.

e) The Ministry of Transport to direct flights from infected areas in South Korea to land at Van Don Airport in Quang Ninh Province, Phu Cat Airport in Binh Dinh Province and Can Tho Airport in Can Tho Province.

f) The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to warn people against travelling to infected areas if not necessary; if not, when returning to Viet Nam, they will have to be quarantined in 14 days.

g) The Ministry of Health to ask people travelling from infected countries and territories to submit health declaration forms after arriving in Viet Nam.

h) Provincial people’s committees to monitor and promptly quarantine people who came from infected areas to Viet Nam in the past 14 days and ask people from other areas in South Korea to have health checks and declare their health status. 

i) The Ministry of Public Security to notify provincial people’s committees about South Korean tourists who have immigrated to Viet Nam since February 11 for them to tighten management and quarantine if necessary./.
