According to a report by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, in 2019, domestic jobs were created for about 1,508 million people; More than 147,000 people go to work abroad. The unemployment rate of working-age laborers in urban areas decreased to about 3.12%.

Compared to the same period last year, the number of employed people increased, the labor structure shifted in a positive direction, the proportion of labor in agriculture, forestry and fishery sharply decreased; The underemployment rate has gradually decreased. Provinces and cities in key economic regions continue to bring their advantages into full play, attracting investment in economic development and create jobs for laborers.

The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has implemented measures to promote labor market development, strengthened research, forecast labor market needs and connected labor supply and demand in the market. Implementation of programs, projects and policies to support job creation for workers, especially young-age workers, disabled workers, rural workers, migrant workers, ethnic minority laborers, women, etc.

In addition, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has enhanced the operational capacity of employment service centers; organizing the trading floor and job market with increasing frequency and diverse and abundant forms of organization.

In 2019, the National Employment Fund contributed to creating jobs for about 90,000 workers. In 2019, employment service centers across the country organized 1,233 job sessions. In average, 25-30 businesses and 300-400 employees participated in one session.

The number of employees who have been career consulted at the centers has reached nearly 3 million, of which over 1 million are recruited, accounting for 33.5% of the total number of the consulted ones. In addition to the system of public employment service centers, the whole country has 232 job service enterprises.

Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Le Tan Dung said that in 2020, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs will carry out synchronous solutions to improve the quality of human resources associated with the labor market; quickly increasing the proportion of trained and qualified laborers to raise Vietnam's labor skills, meeting labor market demands and development requirements of the 4.0 industrial revolution, contributing to improving high labor productivity and national competitiveness.

At the same time, there will be creating complete and synchronous basic elements and conditions to promote the development and operation of the labor market, forming a modern, smooth and integrated labor market, going coupled with strengthening the role of the state in managing and regulating supplies and demand in the market. Especially, focus on forecasting, providing information, connecting supply and demand of manpower throughout the country associated with the international labor market and ASEAN region./.
