Job Fair for EPS Workers and IM Japan Trainees Returning Home in 2024

(Molisa.gov.vn) - On November 8, in Hanoi, the Center of Overseas Labour (Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs) coordinated with the HRD Korea Office in Vietnam to organize a Job Fair for workers going to work in Korea under the EPS Program and IM Japan Trainees returning home in 2024, combined with the award ceremony of the 2024 Successfully Returning Workers to Establish a Business Contest and a Seminar for EPS Workers who successfully returned home to establish a business. Attending the event were Deputy Minister of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) Nguyen Ba Hoan, representatives of leaders of units under the Ministry, Hanoi Department of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs, the Embassy of Republic of Korea to Vietnam and the Embassy of Japan to Vietnam.
Addressing the event, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ba Hoan emphasized that supporting and introducing jobs for workers returning from working abroad is one of the important humanities solutions. The event aims at creating opportunities for workers to find jobs, have the income to stabilize their lives after returning home country, effectively participate in the domestic labour market, and also help foreign-invested enterprises in Vietnam, including Korean and Japanese businesses, to recruit workers who meet job requirements, while encouraging and motivating workers to return home in accordance with regulations when their labour contracts expire, contributing to reducing the rate of Vietnamese workers residing illegally in the host country. Over the past 12 years, the Ministry has directed the Center of Overseas Labour to coordinate with relevant authorities to organize nearly 90 Job Fairs and Job Transaction Sessions, attracting the participation of nearly 2,000 enterprises with many recruitment positions suitable for the professional qualifications, skills, and working style that workers have cultivated and accumulated during their time working abroad; connecting and consulting for over 17,000 cases, the Deputy Minister added.
The Deputy Minister requested the Center of Overseas Labour to continue to coordinate more closely and regularly with the Departments of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs in localities, the Embassies of ROK and the Embassies of Japan, and related organizations, and enterprises to organize job introduction support activities to connect and create jobs for labourers who have finished their work contracts abroad and returned home country, helping them stabilize their lives and develop their owned economies and their families. The Department of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs continues to coordinate with relevant units to organize job fairs well to create opportunities for workers, businesses, and employees, contributing to the stability and development of society.

The Deputy Minister wishes candidates participating in the Job Fair to choose a job that suits their abilities and quickly settle down after returning home. For individuals who are starting a business and have achieved certain results, the Deputy Minister wishes businesses to continue to grow stronger, creating jobs for many workers to stabilize their family's economic life and contribute to the socio-economic development of the locality and the country.
The event attracted 45 businesses to recruit many job positions, diverse occupations with attractive salaries, with a total recruitment and labour export demand of 1,337 vacancies.

Participating in the fair, workers in general, especially workers going to work in ROK under the EPS program and IM Japan interns from Hanoi and neighboring provinces returning home, had direct contact with ROK’s and Japanese-invested enterprises in Vietnam to choose suitable jobs and careers. In addition, the Fair also contributes to supporting businesses, especially businesses from ROK and Japan, to directly interview workers going to work in ROK under the EPS program and IM Japan interns returning home looking for jobs, meeting the production and business requirements of the businesses.

At the job fair, there is also an Award Ceremony for the EPS Labour Competition for Successful Returning Home to Establish a Business in 2024 and a Dialogue and Sharing of Successful Start-up Experiences for Workers Participating in the EPS Program Returning Home. The annual competition is organized by the Center of Overseas Labour and the HRD Korea Representative Office in Vietnam. The competition aims to study and evaluate the reintegration life of workers after completing the EPS program (foreign workers licensed to work in ROK) return home, at the same time praising, motivating, and encouraging workers to voluntarily return home on time.
