On October 5th, the delegation of National Assembly members from Hanoi city, in collaboration with the Hanoi Confederation of Labor and Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee, organized a specialized conference to engage with constituents, including union officials, union members, and workers in the capital city. It is important to ensure adequate social security coverage for an ageing population is an important priority for governments and the global membership of the International Social Security Association (ISSA). Social pensions, also known as zero pillar or non-contributory pensions, complement contributory social insurance systems by providing a guaranteed source of income for people not adequately protected by other forms of social security. In doing so, they expand overall social protection and can be a powerful tool for combating old-age poverty, promoting social inclusion, and mitigating the impacts of labour market inequalities.

On September 28, Vietnam Social Security (VSS) opened a scientific workshop “Effective management and use of Health Insurance Fund: international experience and reality in Vietnam”. The hybrid event was presided over by VSS Deputy General Director Nguyen Duc Hoa at the VSS’s headquarters in Hanoi and connected with VSS offices and healthcare sector branches in all 63 cities and provinces across the country.
