The Health Insurance Law stipulates that all people shall have the right to participate in health insurance with the same scope of health insurance benefits; Health insurance participants are paid by the health insurance fund, with unlimited amount of medical examination and treatment under the scope and level of benefits, which can be up to billions of VND/year. In addition, the health insurance participants’ medical expenses shall be paid by the health insurance fund under regulations, without limits on age, number of days of treatment and total medical examination expenses covered by health insurance.
