Attending the program were Mr. Nguyen Duc Tuy - Member of the Permanent Committee, Head of the Provincial Mass Mobilization Committee of Kon Tum, leaders of units under the VSS, Kon Tum Provincial Social Security Office, representatives of sponsoring units, local authorities of Dak Ha district, Party Committee, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front, various community organizations in Dak La commune, and 55 residents of hamlet 5, Dak La commune, who were presented with social insurance books and health insurance cards.
The program of presenting social insurance books and health insurance cards to people in difficult circumstances and bringing warmth to the poor in the Year of the Wood Dragon is a social activity, closely associated with the goal of 'Universal Social Insurance and Health Insurance' as set out in Resolution No. 20-NQ/TW dated October 25, 2017, Resolution No. 28-NQ/TW dated May 23, 2018. The program aims to promote the beautiful cultural traditions of the ethnic groups, mobilize the collective efforts and sharing spirit of civil servants, employees, and workers in the VSS sector, along with fostering consensus, unity, and contribution from the wider community and enterprises to support those in difficult circumstances who do not have social insurance books, health insurance cards, or unfortunate individuals suffering from illness. Through this, the program aims to spread the humanitarian and compassionate values of social insurance and health insurance policies deeply within the community.
Highlighting the significance of the program, Deputy Director General Chu Manh Sinh shared his hope to receive the joint efforts and contributions of the community to enable more workers to participate in social insurance, and more people to be cared for in terms of health through health insurance. He emphasized the response to the movement 'The whole country joins hands for the poor - Leaving no one behind,' initiated by the Prime Minister, and the continuation of the tradition of 'spreading love and compassion' carried out by officials, civil servants, and employees throughout the VSS sector in the past years. The VSS has donated tens of thousands of social insurance books and hundreds of thousands of health insurance cards, encouraging and cheering on the spirit and material support for workers and people nationwide. This is the practical companion of the VSS with people in difficult circumstances and the poor across the country.
In 2023 alone, the VSS presented social insurance books and health insurance cards to over 267 thousand people, with a total value of VND 79.4 billion. In addition, the entire VSS sector presented 3,881 gifts worth over VND 2.3 billion to patients with health insurance who were being treated at central, provincial, and district hospitals nationwide.
"Only in Kon Tum, during this event, we have helped nearly 700 people with health insurance cards and 45 social insurance books. In Dak La commune today, we are assisting 50 people with health insurance cards and 5 social insurance books. This is the sentiment of the sector and the heartfelt contributions of benevolent units. We sincerely hope that people will encounter more favorable conditions in life, continue to maintain health insurance cards and social insurance books to receive health care, and have a pension when they reach old age," Deputy Director General Chu Manh Sinh added.

Ms. Y Tram is one of the 5 people receiving social insurance books. She expressed gratitude to the agencies and sponsors for presenting social insurance books and health insurance cards to people in difficult circumstances in the hamlet. "This is extremely important support that helps people in difficult circumstances become useful citizens for their families and society. Each social insurance book and health insurance card presented to those in difficult circumstances is not only material support but also a great spiritual encouragement, showing the care and concern of the entire society for those who are less fortunate," Ms. Y Tram shared.
According to Ms. Pham Thi Thuong, Deputy Chairman of Dak Ha district People's Committee, who is also the Head of the district's Steering Committee for implementing social insurance and health insurance policies, Dak Ha is more difficult than it looks. Like the situation of Ms. Y Dih, the majority of people here divide their cultivated land among their children and grandchildren. Therefore, most families do not have enough agricultural land to support their families.
