The Ha Noi Social Security Office was told to actively implement synchronous solutions, coordinate with relevant sectors to strengthen dissemination, and complete the assigned tasks of social security this year.
Viet Nam Social Security’s Deputy Director General Nguyen Duc Hoa gave this directive when he attended a meeting between the Viet Nam Social Security Board of Commissioners and the Ha Noi Social Security Office on September 25.

The meeting aimed to assess the implementation of social and health insurance policies in the first nine months of this year in the city.
Hoa noted that the number of people participating in social, health, and unemployment insurance in the first nine months of this year had increased compared to the same period last year, but it was not truly commensurate with the city's potential.
In the context of health insurance, he asked the office to devise solutions and measures to control medical examination and treatment costs, covered by the health insurance fund, in line with the estimates provided by the Prime Minister, ensuring funding for medical examination and treatment facilities.
Also, during the meeting, Deputy Chair Commissioner Nguyen Van Cuong, who presided over the proceedings, highly praised the results the office achieved in the first nine months of this year.
He commented that the office had diligently adhered to the directions of the insurance sector and local authorities, reaping many positive outcomes in the implementation of social and health insurance policies.

The coordination and implementation of social and health insurance policies at all levels have been increasingly consolidated, contributing to promptly and thoroughly addressing the interests of participants, he said.
The settlement and payment of social and health insurance benefits were executed swiftly and securely, he noted.
The oversight of the implementation of social and health policies in the city was effectively coordinated by the office in conjunction with the labour sector’s inspectorate, the health sector, the police, and other relevant units, he mentioned.
Addressing violations related to social and health insurance, as well as addressing people's letters and complaints concerning these insurances, were also undertaken promptly, he added.
The health insurance fund was rigorously managed. Activities related to communication, administrative procedure reform, and information technology application were launched in a synchronous and comprehensive manner, he remarked.
In addition to the laudable outcomes, Cuong highlighted some shortcomings and proposed solutions that the office should prioritise.
The office was directed to adhere strictly to the guidance of the Viet Nam Social Security, and the city’s Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee. It was also advised to align closely with Resolution 28 of the Central Executive Committee to systematically implement solution groups aimed at expanding social and health insurance participants, he conveyed.
The office must take the initiative in controlling medical and health insurance costs, covered by the health insurance fund; oversee the usage of the health insurance fund at each medical institution; analyse data to identify and swiftly
