At the awarding ceremony, VSS Deputy General Director Tran Dinh Lieu said that over the years, the VSS has launched and implemented numerous programs to give social insurance books and health insurance cards to people with difficult circumstances in the past years across the country, with funding contributed from the salaries of civil servants, public employees, workers in the industry and other support sources.

Especially over the past 2 years, sharing with the difficulties that people have encountered during the Covid-19 pandemic, the VSS has given thousands of social insurance books and health insurance cards, both financially and spiritually supported workers and people of the whole country. In order to continue to spread the human values of this activity, on November 23, 2022, the VSS General Director launched a program to give away nearly 20,000 social insurance books and 120,000 health insurance cards to people in difficult circumstances in order to help people in difficult circumstances reduce the burden of medical treatment costs thanks to the health insurance card when they are unfortunately ill; have the opportunity to participate in voluntary social insurance to enjoy pension and health care in old age. On behalf of the VSS industry, Lieu thanked the donors for their noble gestures and benevolent hearts, considering this is not only financial support but also timely spiritual support, in order to partially share for difficult situations across the country.

"The gifts as health insurance cards are valuable, as when people unfortunately get sick, numerous benefits will be given, reducing the financial burden for the family; moreover, there will be more and more people guaranteed with income when they reach the end of working age by participating in social insurance," said Phung.
