More than VND 51 trillion paid for social and unemployment insurance beneficiaries in Jan 2023

Up to Jan 30th 2023, Viet Nam Social Security (VSS) funded more than VND 51 trillion for social security offices in 63 provinces and cities nationwide to pay social and unemployment insurance benefits for participants. Of the funding, social security offices in the provinces and cities cooperated with provincial post offices to pay more than VND 30 trillion as pension and social insurance benefits in January and February for nearly 3.3 million beneficiaries.

Notably, for those who are too old or ill to go to get their pensions or social insurance benefits directly, the social security offices cooperate with local post offices to deliver the benefits in cash to the beneficiaries' homes.
VSS pays social and unemployment insurance regimes for beneficiaries with flexible payment methods such as cash, post offices, personal account, etc. In 2022, about 61% of beneficiaries in urban areas received social and unemployment insurance benefits via their bank account, exceeding the target assigned in the Prime Minister’s Decision No 1813.
