I engaged in the social insurance scheme from March 2014 to February 2016. After that I quitted my job and enjoyed unemployment insurance. I received social insurance once in April 2017. Now, I have a new job, and my company asked me to hand in my social insurance book which was collected when I got unemployment benefit. In this case, can I ask for the reissuance of a social insurance book?
According to Point 2.1, Item 2, Article 46 of the procedures for collection of social insurance contributions and premiums of health insurance, unemployment insurance, occupational accident and occupational disease insurance, the management of social insurance books and health insurance cards promulgated in conjunction with Decision No.595/QD-BHXH dated April 14, 207 of the General Director of the Vietnam Social Security, the social insurance book will be reissued in case a participant, who has received lump-sum social insurance benefits, has unearned payment period of unemployment insurance.
However, in your case, the social insurance book was collected as you fully enjoyed unemployment benefits. Thus, you have to fill in a social insurance declaration form to get a new social insurance book from the social insurance agency.
