HA NOI — General Director of Vietnam Social Security Nguyen The Manh met with leaders of social security agencies in three southeast localities - HCM City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai - on December 2, discussing about their insurance premium collection, social insurance coverage, inspection, examination and the implementation of key tasks at the end of 2022.

VSS General Director Nguyen The Manh speaks at the meeting with representatives from three social security agencies in southeastern localities

Reporting at the meeting, Director of Dong Nai Social Security Pham Minh Thanh said that in the first 11 months of this year, the province had about 2.7 million people participating in social insurance and health insurance including 811,428 social insurance participants, nearly 800,000 unemployment insurance participants and over 11,900  voluntary social insurance participants.

The agency collected over VND21.13 trillion of social insurance and health insurance premiums, reaching 88.8 per cent of the target assigned by VSS.

By the end of this year, Dong Nai Social Security planned to attract over 208,000 people participating in health insurance; 95,000 people participating in compulsory social insurance and unemployment insurance; more than 28,300 people participating in voluntary social insurance. In terms of revenue, it needs to collect an additional VND2.67 trillion.

Thanh said that many businesses in the locality still had difficulties in production and business. Therefore, some of them must ask employees to take rotational leave, work four days a week or take unpaid leave.

In the last 11 months, 41,500 people stopped participating in social insurance. In November alone, 1,525 people stopped participating in social insurance. It is expected that December will see a reduction of about 2,700 participants, said Thanh.

According to Hao, localities also needed to strengthen coordination, and hold daily and weekly briefings with collection service organisations to assign more targets, so that these organisations can be more productive. Regarding student health insurance, attention should be paid to vocational schools. He said it was necessary to call for support from sponsors to buy and donate health insurance cards, and provide voluntary social insurance to people.

Concluding the meeting, VSS General Director Nguyen The Manh shared that the three localities were the leading ones in the country. Therefore, their achievements were not only for themselves but also for the whole industry and the whole country./.
